Program Overview
The skills to succeed, the support to make it last
Taking an intuitive, interactive approach to advisor development, AMP provides comprehensive technical and sales training with an overarching focus on cultivating interpersonal skills. You’ll receive a generous compensation package initially to help ease you from a set salary while you build your client base. In addition, AMP is designed to support your long-term development, whether you plan to be a stand-alone advisor or join an existing team.
During the first six months, participants study for and take their Series 7 and 66 license exams and the life and health insurance license exam. Each AMP candidate must hold their Series 7 and 66 licenses prior to their trip to the home office. Distance learning will introduce the basic activities participants will need to master as advisors. AMP candidates hold the responsibility to work with their mentor to advance their learning.
In months seven through 18, fundamental financial planning education is provided to obtain the Accredited Asset Management Specialist® (AAMS®) designation. Mentors provide day-to-day in-house guidance. The interactive distance learning and the three training sessions conducted at Raymond James headquarters in St. Petersburg, Florida, will enhance skill sets, inspire confidence and connect participants with one another. These visits set this program apart from others with an interactive curriculum, opportunities to hear from industry experts and involvement from senior leaders within the firm.
During months 19+ of the program, participants will identify areas of specialization that match their practice objectives or team roles. In this final phase, they will be directed to other Raymond James programs designed to extend their knowledge in these areas of interest. Note: The Certified Financial Planner? certification is optional for Raymond James & Associates AMP participants in good standing with branch manager approval at month 24.
Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. owns the certification marks CFP?, Certified Financial Planner?, CFP? (with plaque design) and CFP?(with flame design) in the U.S., which it awards to individuals who successfully complete CFP Board's initial and ongoing certification requirements.
